Who am I? What is my blog about? Well, I guess you clicked on my profile to find out, so here’s a little insight into me, my blog and why I love creating and sharing my take on fashion and write for any and all fashion lovers out there in the world. My name is Dan and I started my blog back in December 2011, after creating a magazine cover for a college project whilst I was studying Art & Design.
From around the age of fifteen, I became obsessed with everything to do with fashion, from style to design, pattern cutting to photography. When most guys around that age buy porn magazines, I’d buy Vogue and hide it under my bed so that my parents wouldn’t find it (I was still in the closet in those days). A couple of months into a project for college, ‘TREND’ was born as a small, fun, side project for me to work on in my spare time and I have loved writing, designing, creating editorial magazines covers and spreads, attending fashion events, interviewing people about their brands, meeting new people and hearing your stories about what fashion means to you. What do I love about fashion and why do I blog? Personally, I love style, I love individuality, I love how clothes make you feel when you put them on, I love how they can tell a story about a person just by the way in which they wear them. Clothes can make you feel sexy, confident, individual, glamorous, comfortable or even chilled out, sometimes all at the same time.
But beyond that, I love and admire all forms of creativity. In my spare time, I’m constantly on the go (and I love it, I really can’t sit still). I’m visiting art galleries and museums, on Tumblr and Instagram looking for inspiration, reading fashion magazines for important influential stories admiring the people that write them or playing video games and watching Netflix with my boyfriend whilst eating Chinese food and drinking wine (we all need some chill time, right?) Art, music, photography, drawing, music are just some of my interests and hobbies also, oh, and reading a good book (I mean who doesn’t like getting lost in the words of a good book?) Professionally I make coffee at Costa (we all have to earn a living) and I love it. The customers are my favourite part of it, I’ve met some wonderful people both in front of and behind the counter whilst I’ve been working there (you can tell a lot about a person by what kind of coffee they drink). My favourite drink to make? The flat white, any barista will tell you that there is no better feeling than when you get that first perfect Florette on the top of it (I’m currently working on my swans).
So there you have it, a little insight into me and my blog. If anything, I hope you go away with a smile, or maybe some inspiration after reading my posts, because if I can make one person smile or be inspired with my content and my blog posts then I will be, a very happy man indeed.
